I have a terribly itchy case of SDCC’s.

I am sure many of you secretly (or openly) resent me for my horrendous lack of consistency, but just know that deep down in my heart, I truly don’t care.

I will be at San Diego Comic Con hocking my wares, and waving my arms enthusiastically.  I would love nothing more then to see your faces, and wave my arms in them!

YES, YOU! YOUR FACE. (pointing)

Here’s my schedule (SLG Booth):

Thursday – Saturday: 2:30pm-4:00pm & 5:30pm-7:00pm

Sunday – 2:00pm-3:00pm

So, come say hello!  We can wave our arms enthusiastically together.

ALSO:

I have completed a super-fance-town, two color (black and turquoise) print , entitled “Mutiny of the Flesh”.  This was hand screen-printed, by me, with much love, sweat and cursing in the 105 degree heat of Los Angeles.  It was screened onto my most very favorite paper, a super-heavy, translucent, almost plastic-like, 75lbs cover weight vellum.  I have been completely obsessed with this shit for ages.

Size: 13.75 x 19.5 inches

Each print will also be accompanied by two matching buttons!  See image BELOW…

I will be bringing these along with my to SDCC, but if you’d like me to set one aside for you, they’re up in my etsy shop, just for yew!

Secret sidenote: If you are all into, around and up in this design, LTDtee.com is going to be creating “Mutiny of the Flesh” shirts for a limited week-long-run!  I’ll tell you more when they become available… SHHHH!!!

IMPENDING SDCC…

Hello, mine kindela.  I know it has been all too long, as I have been recieving messages informing me that I have passed away or simply given up on all of you.  Not true!  Life has simply served me up a steaming pile of crap, causing me to quiet down for a wee bit, but only in the end making me more powerful.

SDCC!  Time now to don your favorite sweat-stained Storm Trooper costume, and break out the wieners…  it’s that time again!!  San Diego Comic Con is in a few days, and I will be there.  I will be there bathing in the stench of fellow geeks, and rubbing myself down with jars of antibacterial-juice in order to keep myself relatively sanitary.  Relatively.

Please come by the SLG booth, and say “hello!” as I will be signing solo part-time, and would love gaze upon your smiling faces.  I promise that I am quite friendly.

Here’s how the signing schedule gonna go:

  • Thursday:  Jhonen and myself – 2:30-4:00pm and 5:30-7:30pm
  • Friday: Just me – 11:30am-1:00pm, Jhonen and I – 5:30-7:30pm
  • Saturday:  Just me – 12:30-2:00pm, Jhonen and I – 5:30-7:30pm
  • Sunday:  Just me – 10:00-11:00pm, Jhonen and I – 3:30-5:00pm

I look forward to seeing you there!!!

PS:  Above are a few hand-painted soopuh-mini prints I will be selling at SDCC!  Each are 1.5×2.5 inches, hand-cut, hand-printed (gocco) on wood, and come in matching wax envelopes!  TEENSY-TOWN!!!  Each are lovingly handmade by yours truly.

PSS:  I will be posting other bits ünd bobs that I’ll be bringing to SDCC in the upcoming days!

Terrifying, dark times.

Have a seat, a cup of tea perhaps. This is a touch on the long, and ranty side.

Although I am sure that you’ve all been bombarded with election 08′ news coverage, commercials, and so fourth, I feel that I must do my part in urging everyone to register, and vote this year.  I find this particular election to be not only one of the most important, but one of the most frightening.  I know that digesting the constant vomiting of misinformation, and ridiculously childish jabs from both of our candidates, has been a taxing, and rather depressing spectacle.  Unfortunately, because of the media, and the creation of wrong information coming from both Obama, and McCain it is important to do your own legwork in researching the correct information, and thusly, making an informed decision.  I have been frequenting FactCheck.org to double check mine.

Now for my personal outlook:  We run the tremendous risk of having seated in the oval office a crusty old codger, with even crustier propositions for our country, followed around by an horrendously anti-feminist and ignorant, puppet of a hockey mom.  With the two of these buffoons in the cockpit, we will surely end up IN HELL.  The rich will continue get richer, the middle class will become the lower class, and the lower class will become homeless.  The mentions of a second Great Depression have been brought up time, and again.  The rights of women will hang even more so in the balance than they already do; as the McCain/Palin ideal seems to dictate that women should have no say in what happens to their own bodies, as they are to be ruled by ancient Christian morals.  We will continue our wars, and our ties with foreign countries will continue to unravel, while a second Vietnam continues to kill off innocent people from both sides.  Not to mention our disintegrating environment will worsen, and we’ll still be dependent on foreign countries for our energy sources.  Unbelievable, and scary.

Even though I feel that Hillary, and Al Gore should have been in control, and truly be the ones repairing the endless damage that our current slow-witted president has wreaked, Obama is a bright gentleman who has the potential to mend our ravaged country.

If you have not registered to vote yet, the time is nigh. Every little bit helps, so PLEASE, do not consider your voice to be an insignificant one.  In a time where most individuals seem jaded, and riddled with apathy, GIVE A DAMN.  SAVE YOURSELVES!

PLEASE GIVE YOUR SUPPORT. REGISTER.  NOW.
If my rant has even gotten one of you to point, click, and register, then god dammit… I’m happy.

Thank you muchly for reading.

Post Comic-Con Poop-out.

Armed with a praying mantis, sharpies, and a bucket of Theraflu™, (which I would intermittently shove my fists into, and smear all over my face like a pooh-bear in honey) I hauled my infected-ass out to SDCC.

I have to honestly say, that despite being plagued with a mystery-illness that left me covered in bruises, and squeaking like a dolphin for the duration of con, this was one of the most successful SDCCs I have ever attended.  As an artist, to be amidst such talented, and mutually ecstatic people, was a highly positive experience that left me feeling quite warm-cockled.  I walked off with some pretty sweet booty, as well as the business cards of many talented peepsies.  If you have a moment, you should check out some of these awesome people I met:

Jeremy Bastian, I bought a tremendously awesome print from.  Also, check out his blog, which has a lot more of his current work.

Lark Pien was painting these teensy lil’ watercolors very intently, so, I wasn’t able to chat with her all that much.  However, I really dugg her work)

The freakishly talented Kevin Manthei (Invader Zim’s music man) bought me a sandwich, when I was incapacitated by sickness.

The mastermind behind The Babysitter, Andy Ristaino, has some crazy-mad skills.

Over at Imaginism Studios, Bobby Chiu’s work really struck me.

Justin Parpan‘s dinosaurs and monsters caught me from a distance.

Roman Muradov dropped by the booth while I was signing, and I rifled through his portfolio.  He rocks the sequential art.

This is just a short list of people who I found to be inspiring, and had the fortune of meeting.

Finally, thanks to everyone who came up and said “hullo”, and showed a genuine interest in what I do.  It meant a great deal to me, while distracting me from the nagging phlegm tugging at my uvula.

PS:  If anyone got photos at the signings, could please send them to JRGoldbergLIVES@gmail.com.  I’d really appreciate it.  Sitting behind the booth did not allow for much photo-documentation, and I tend to be a bit of a geek for nostalgia.

A-Hoocha, hoocha, hoocha…  Lobstuh.

Break out the disinfectant and hot dogs, SDCC is upon us!

I have received notice from SLG headquarters when I will be signing at their booth at SDCC!  The (tentative?) schedule goes:

Thursday:  12pm-2pm, then 3pm-4pm

Friday and Saturday:  12pm-1:30pm, then 3pm-4:30pm

Sunday:  12pm-1:30pm, then 3pm-4pm

If you too are going to be enduring the San Diego Comic Con sweat-vortex, please feel free to pop by the booth to say “hullo!”, or some other exclamation!  Thursday I have a feeling, will be quite quietish, as I’ll be flying solo that day. I will most likely be the one huddled behind the stack of Jellyfists, nose embedded in my PSP/DS/sketchbook, or something.  Come on by!
